The unexpected has a way of disrupting our lives in ways we might not have ever chosen.

Mike Donehey has built a career out of turning the unexpected into something meaningful. After a potentially fatal car accident as a teenager left him bedridden, Mike picked up a guitar to pass the time—an act that would ultimately spark a lifelong calling to songwriting, storytelling, and ministry.

That calling led to the formation of Tenth Avenue North, one of the most impactful and beloved bands in Christian music. From their acclaimed debut album Over and Underneath, the band’s reach steadily grew through a string of powerful songs including “Love Is Here,” “By Your Side,” “You Are More,” “Worn,” “I Have This Hope,” and the multi-week No. 1 hit “Control (Somehow You Want Me).”

After stepping away in 2020 to pursue individual paths, a new chapter has begun: Tenth Avenue North is back, reimagined with new members and a renewed vision, continuing their legacy of honest, hope-filled music for a new season.

Alongside his music, Mike has expanded his voice as an author and communicator. His debut book, Finding God’s Life for My Will, became an immediate bestseller, followed by Grace in the Gray, which resonated deeply with readers navigating life’s tensions and uncertainties. He has since released The Lonely Wolf's Club, further exploring themes of belonging, identity, and connection in an increasingly isolated world.

Mike also hosts the Chasing the Beauty podcast on the AccessMore network, where he invites listeners to discover glimpses of God in unexpected places. Musically, his solo work—including his album Flourish—showcases a continued passion for creating songs that speak to the heart and soul.

Whether through music, books, or conversation, Mike remains committed to one mission: helping people encounter hope, embrace the unexpected, and discover that even in life’s gray areas, grace is never far away.
